Live Electronics, Multimedia, and Experimental Sound
This course examines the continued growth of live-electronics, starting from early experiments with analog technologies leading to contemporary uses of live-electronics in the creation of musical performances, sound installations, and interdisciplinary work. The class implements ideas related to the use of live-electronics through the use of Max/MSP/Jitter, and examines how the availability of such programs has furthered interdisciplinary and collaborative work.
Open to Music Majors only. This course may be repeated for credit up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation.
