Students will learn both traditional and contemporary instrumental pieces of Chinese music, as well as different regional styles. The ensemble will present a concert at the end of each semester. Attendance for the class is mandatory.

Weekly exercises, mandatory one hour TA session, concert presentation at the end of semester.

Permission of instructor is needed for the course. A rudimentary sense of pitch and rhythm is required. Interested students should attend the first class for audition. Audition will be held on Thursday January 24 from 4:30-6:30 pm in Rehearsal Hall 003. A list of those students accepted in the course will be posted the following day.
Undergraduates may take this course up to two times for a letter grade and up to four times for credit towards graduation.
