This course is the performance complement to MUSC115. It provides a hands-on experience performing the orchestral music of central Java. The performance aspects of this course will promote cultural introspection and familiarize students with an orchestra consisting predominantly of tuned gongs and metallophones. No previous musical training is necessary. |
Essential Capabilities:
Designing, Creating, and Realizing Performing musical works with emphasis on the original design of certain genres and styles of Javanese gamelan.
