In this course students examine the modern and contemporary novel, that chameleon of form and style, with particular focus on structure, time sequence, arc, and revelation.
Students will develop skills in literary interpretation.

Students will read 10 novels over the course of the semester, including PEOPLE OF PAPER by Salvador Plascencia, DOTING by Henry Green, THE FLAME ALPHABET by Ben Marcus, A VISIT FROM THE GOON SQUAD by Jennifer Egan, and others.
