Introductory language course. This course is designed for students without prior Spanish language study and focuses on the development of receptive and productive language skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking), within a strong cultural frame.

Essential Capabilities: Intercultural Literacy, Speaking, Writing
This course offers constant opportunities to develop the ability to speak Spanish in a variety of meaningful contexts.
Students will compare cultural practices, products, and values in the Spanish-speaking world with those in their own culture.
