Spring 2018 not offered

In this seminar, we will read works by Jean-Claude Izzo, Graham Greene, Paco Ignacio Taibo II, Saadat Hasan Manto, and William McIlvanney. The objective of the seminar will be to examine the connection between crime fiction and urban spaces and how crime fiction tackles social and existential issues. This will be a writing-intensive course in which students will also scrutinize the craft of crime writing to create their own works of crime fiction.
